Performance analysis:
Conducting video analysis in normal speed and slow motion
Beach-based analysis of surfers, from intermediate to advanced
Recognizing and analyzing mistakes, Discussion of correction methods and improvement techniques
Analysis of body movements and their effects on the surfboard in relation to the wave being surfed
Fitness training and exercise description:
Use of fitness training and warm-up exercises
Basic physiology and anatomy
Discusses different types of fitness and training methods to enhance performance and prevent injury
Nutrition:
Effective nutrition to maximize surfing potential
Focusing on nutrients, food types, hydration and carbohydrates for performance surfers
Training Planning:
Planning coaching sessions and using skill drills
Teaching sessions for individuals and groups of varying abilities and fitness levels
Health and safety advice for sports coaches:
Preparation and discussion of risk assessments, including NOP (Normal Operating Procedures) and EAP (Emergency Action Plan)
Topics such as duty of care, child protection, risk assessment and legal issues
Personal surfing level:
Proof of appropriate surfing level or participation in surf contests
Practical demonstration in the line-up in 1-2 meter waves, including maneuvers such as bottom turns, top turns, cutbacks, re-entry, floater, pull out
Longboarders should demonstrate running on the board
Alternative: submission of contest recordings, e.g.B. on progressing through the first two rounds of a British Ranking Event
Presentation:
10-15 minute presentation by course participants on a pre-assigned topic
Use of visual aids such as Power Point, flipchart or video
Presentation should be appropriate to the level of the course participants and not intended for beginners
Course details:
The ISA Surf COACH Level 2 is a three-day course
Training to become an ILS (International Lifesaving Federation). This training is a prerequisite for obtaining Level 1 and 2 certificates.
