The ISA Surf Instructor Training Level 1 includes a variety of teaching content aimed at comprehensively preparing prospective surf instructors for their future role. Here are the main contents of the training:
Practical instruction in surfing
The basic surf lesson (as well as other teaching methods) for teaching beginners
The function and tasks of the instructor/trainer
Communication and teaching techniques
Didactics, motivation, physical fitness and mental attitude, which can influence the learning process and the individual surfing experience
Planning and conducting surf lessons
Own surfing skills / open water skills
Recognizing and correcting mistakes
Fitness for surfers
Surfing equipment
This content ensures, that participants of the ISA Surf Instructor Training Level 1 acquire not only the technical skills, but also the pedagogical knowledge and safety standards to become competent and responsible surf instructors.
Training to become an ILS (International Lifesaving Federation). This training is a prerequisite for obtaining Level 1 and 2 certificates.
