Catch a number of waves (normally at least six in thirty minutes depending on conditions) and ride them in a standing position left and right whilst demonstrating good control of their surfboard.

Carry out a combination of manoeuvres, showing good control, which should include bottom turns, top turns, cut backs, re-entry/floater, pull out.  Candidates riding long boards will also be expected to show good control whilst carrying out long board manoeuvres and demonstrate their ability to walk the board rather than shuffle.

b. Competition Record
